Yes it is very possible. Not on the Pro level but kids are sponsored on the ametuer level. They don't get money but they get discounts on parts and accessories and sometimes even free parts and accessories. If they are good and win alot and win championships, they can get full blown sponsorships and get their whole setup and entry to races free....
